Vehicle Listing Description
The following item up for sale is an all original 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with 74017 miles. This is an excellent example of a 2 owner, current ownerʼs family having had it for 22 years, survivor quality original car. The current owner has gone to great effort, as did the original owner to keep every document, oil change record, tune up, warranty card, and document associated with this car back to new (see picture of records). As anyone who collects these cars knows, that information is invaluable to have and getting nearly impossible to find in this day and age. Good for them.

This Mustang features the original 351 cubic inch Cleveland motor. This is the 2 bolt main engine block with the 2 barrel carburetor and intake manifold. The transmission I am told is the FMX 3 speed automatic. The rear end is the ford 9 inch. The drive train has very good exhaust, brakes, suspension for its age. Getting into the car and going for a extend cruise is a pleasure with the new tires and mild drive train. Has that muscle car look with a time tested mild reliable drive train. What a great combination.

The exterior and floorboards of the car are in excellent shape due in no small part to the dealer installed undercoating. (See picture of dealer installed sticker and note in door jam picture insert points) Anyone who knows these cars know rust was a major problem but this car survived because of the combination of undercoating and always being garage kept. The fenders are both in excellent shape, quarters just as good, trunk floor excellent with just very minor surface blemishes. The floor pans of the car are nearly perfect with the exception of a small area near the driver side rear seat passengerʼs area where it has a pinhole. The current ownerʼs family had the car painted in 1986 due to some fading. The paint could easily pass for several years old instead of 22.

The interior of this is in fantastic shape. The interior features bucket seats, factory floor shifter, factory tachometer and gauges, as well as factory air vents. The entire interior shows very little wear for its age.

The door trim tag reads as follows:

DATE 06/73 GVRW 4331

VIN

3F05H61610 PASS

BODY COLOR TRIM TRANS AXEL DSO

63R 2B GA U 2 12

I try to describe not only the really good areas of the car, but also the areas that may need some attention in the future. This car as I said is a fantastic survivor quality car but it has been repainted. It is much better than driver quality but it is by no means a 100 point show quality paint. The car has had the passengerʼs side mirror broken in a garage mishap. A new mirror will bolt on with no body work required but in the effort to fully disclose as much as I can I wanted you to be aware of this. The car hasnʼt been driven much in the last several years. The car could probably use a mild tune up, set of points and plugs and have the timing set to run its very best.

I appreciate you taking the time to read our listing. I have a clear Illinois title for this car. Please feel free to email me with any questions.
